The Blitz are the IWFL North American Champions for the 2nd time in 3 years!

After beating the New England Intensity in the quarterfinal matchup by a score of 53-14, and beating the Carolina Phoenix in a nail-biter by a score of 19-14, the Montreal Blitz ended a long season in Round Rock, TX to fight for the IWFL North American Championship versus the Bay Area Bandits on July 24th 2010. The Blitz capped off a perfect 11-0 season by defeating the Bandits by a tight score of 9-2. The Blitz, who are the only Canadian representation in the IWFL, have brought home the North American title 2 times in the past 3 years.

The final was an emotional roller coaster and a defensive battle with the score remaining at 2-0 for the Bandits until the fourth quarter. In the second half, the Texas heat seemed to affect the Bandits as they sustained more injuries than the Blitz. Many of the Blitz players played in this heat the year before and seemed to know how to better prepare themselves. After the Blitz scored their own 2 points safety, they never looked back as they scored the only touchdown of the game soon thereafter making the score 9-2.

Congratulations to #22 Geoergina Paull who received the team MVP for the game and #16 Saadia Ashraf who won the Fan Favourite MVP of the game.

Congratulations to all the coaches and players for all your hard work, determination, and your victory.

First game of the 2010 season

The Montreal Blitz opened their season visiting the Binghamton Tiger cats on April 3rd. Faster, stronger, and more experienced, the Blitz defeated their opponents 76-0. Check out the photos!

St-Patrick's Day Parade

On the 14th of March, as they have for the last 6 years, the Montreal Blitz participated in the St. Patrick's parade. Braving the cold and rain, the Blitz walked proudly in the streets of Montreal distributing t-shirts and mini footballs to their faithful fans. The smiles and cheers the Blitz received in return was enough to keep them warm. Photos Available
