The
Montreal Blitz is a semi professional full contact women’s
football team - the only Canadian team to play in a
US based league - the IWFL (Independent Women’s
Football League). The season runs from April through
to June and matches are played mostly in the north-eastern
USA.
The
Blitz was founded in 2002 and the program has been growing
steadily for the last 7 years. The team is made up of
female athletes from every walk of life. Women aged
18 to 40 come together to learn the game, train hard
and prepare for yet another successful season.
The
2008 season marked a breakthrough year for the Blitz
as they battled their way to victory over the Clarksville
Fox in Chicago and came home as the 2008 IWFL National
Champions. |
